Travel Grant to Early Career Researchers

The European Society for Clinical Virology (ESCV) wishes to offer a number of travel grants to Early Career Researchers to enable them to attend ESCV meetings and workshops.

For the annual ESCV meetings, the grants will be awarded to students and trainees, ESCV members, who will give an oral or a poster presentation at the meeting.

Applications will be reviewed by members of the Scientific Committee, and the grant will be given according to the quality of the abstract and availability of funds.

The maximum award will be € 750 for European applicants. This amount can be used to cover registration, travel, and/or accommodation cost (please note that you will have to be able to cover the remaining amount; grants are up to 750€ only). You will receive the grant against the receipts to indicate your costs, after the event.

ESCV would also like to offer international grants for the purpose of encouraging membership and attendance from developing countries, outside Europe. Individual consideration will be given to these international applicants who will have higher expenses to attend the meeting.

Important Notes:

• The applicant must be a current member of the ESCV.
• Priority will be given to those who have not received a travel grant from ESCV within the last two years.
• Applicants should not do any travel, accomodation or registration bookings (unless they can be cancelled) before they have received visa/other permissions to travel as required.

Grant applications must include: 

• The official application form using the link provided. This will be announced soon.
• An official letter on your institution’s letterhead from your supervisor or head of the department, verifying the accuracy of the information and recommending the award.
• A copy of the abstract on the official form.

Only complete applications will be considered for the meeting grant.

Please be aware that only one travel grant is given to a recipient.
